Adding Injury to Insult

Still here.

Still fighting the respiratory infection.

Doc M. gave me a good checkout, and says we’ve been able to keep it from turning into pneumonia (yay!) but…

I think I broke a rib (or two) Thursday night from the coughing.

This bug sucks.

  Oh man JAS – I am SO sorry to hear this! I’ve cracked a couple of ribs from coughing once; it was pneumonia. Have you had an x-ray? Hanging on this long it would concern me. Stay strong and be well, soon.

  Thanks Kris, and thanks for your concern! No X-ray – my specialist does a detailed lung check every month, so she knows what the ol’ lungs “should” sound like for me. I’ve really had too many x-rays cumulatively, although if we felt it was pneumonia we’d run a CAT Scan in a heartbeat. A regular X-ray will miss pneumonia that likes to ‘lurk’ in pockets. We’re monitoring it.
