When “Smart” is Not
One of my friends told me last night that she can’t get her new phone to work, doesn’t understand the instruction manual (which is bigger than the phone book that covered the entire town I grew up in) and feels “so stupid” because of it.
My observation:
Your phone was designed by an engineer in India, manufactured at a facility in China, and had its instructions written by a worker in Pakistan who had a semester of English at the American University in Cairo.
And companies somehow think that process can result in a ’smart’ phone?
That, ladies and gentlemen, is one of the reasons our economy is in the (made in China for an American by a EU investment firm’s holding-company-owned) toilet.
I don’t believe in protectionism. But this?
This is stupid.
Just my opinion…
