Bee-utiful!

I love the way our little fuzzy bumblebees look, and I’m inordinately fond of dahlias, so it’s always an appealing combination for me when I see a bumblebee gathering pollen deep within the heart of a dahlia bloom.

It just makes me smile.

    Just look at his hind legs. I know there is an old saying that goes with impossible things about “bumblebees aren’t supposed to fly”. But with legs that laden down with pollen, that one must have struggled mightily to gain lift!

    Beautiful composition, btw.

    I noticed that too – she’s loaded to the max! I love the way the composition of this image turned out… it was an experiment that worked. :-)
