The Gift of the Deer

Last Sunday we were in just the right place to see three separate deer herds quietly came out from hiding to graze. As they emerged, the setting sun bathed the deer in liquid gold.

Even the bare trees filled with light, as if glowing from within.

The land around us became a living tapestry, with no sound except that of the wind.

I wish each of you, Oh Best Beloved, moments like these.

JAS – simply spectacular, especially that one close-up. It’s called the “magic hour” by nature photographers – that hour before sunrise and before sunset. The quality of light is like no other time of day.

How lovely to see the deer emerging during the hour.
Used to spend a lot of time in Eagle River/Rhinelander areas. So I’m looking at old home week in your pictures. Thank you.
