A Break From Our Regularly Scheduled Showers!
No damage here from Friday’s storms, thank goodness. I certainly feel for the towns in Michigan, Indiana and Florida which were badly damaged by tornadoes, and for the families who lost loved ones in the storms.
And now for a shocking local newsflash: it isn’t raining! Wow, we could get used to this… which is too bad, because it’s supposed to start raining again tonight.
Like that’s a surprise.
*sigh*
To cheer up my drenched spirits, I’m looking for blogs which regularly post cute photos of guinea pigs, the sort of photos that make you exclaim (if you’re female) “awwwwww!” or (if you’re male) “gack!” Even after searching through Technorati and Google, I haven’t found any “daily photo” type blogs that are devoted to piggies, so if you know of one, let me know. I’m in the mood for a good ol’ fashioned “awwwww, isn’t that piggy cute!” session.
There’s gotta be a “Daily Cavy” blog somewhere out there, right?

OK, I can’t give you daily Guinea Pigs - though I’m sure there has to be one. But I can give you the following:
http://www.cuteoverload.com
http://www.icanhascheezburger.com
Both of them are updated several times daily - with the most adorable pictures of adorable animals that you can possibly imagine. On Cute Overload, they are posted with endearing and downright silly captions that border on poetry. On Cheezburger, the pictures themselves have sayings on them as if the animal in the photo is speaking.
Both are absolutely priceless.
I love Cute Overload - it’s been a daily favorite since last year, and I, too, highly recommend it. I’ll go check out the icanhascheezburger site - that sounds like fun. I found the Daily Bunny from your Blogroll, Kris, and love that, too - the blogger’s commentaries on the photos are hilarious.
Judy- from my blogroll you should also check out “Lucy 3.0″. She’s the most documented, graphed and reported hamster in the world. Version 3.0 currently.
I think I found a website you might enjoy:
http://www.cavycam.com/
Kris - will do, although, oddly enough, I can take or leave hamsters (even though I’ve never met a rodent I actually disliked). Maybe I just need to get to know a Hammy better. The only ones I’ve ever known belonged to friends, and devoted their lives to hatching and implementing escape plans. They never seemed particularly interested in anything else (except food)!
Jane - I love it!! Thank you!
PIGGIES!!
*grinning ear to ear*
Oh, and Kris - the “icanhascheezburger” site is great, too! Now I’m off to check out the hammy site… maybe I’ll become a hamster convert.
